THE MISSION

I Am Skyn is a startup cosmetic brand that created products to empower women. The goal was to build a brand identity to make I Am Skyn very easy to identify and remember, while promoting wellness education.

I created the whole brand identity for I Am Skyn, starting from strategy, analysing the target audience, the problems and the goals. It was crucial to make the visual style based on the needs identified in the strategy.

Thanks to the brand identity, brand launch was successful, quickly selling out. Pre orders rose 25% after the initial launch.

What is I Am Skyn?

I Am Skyn is a multi-generational self-love and wellness collective equipping women with education and resources to write their own definition of beauty.

The process

PHASE 1 – Brand strategy

Through strategy workshop, we identified the brand attributes, which were the foundation for designing the visual identity. Understanding I Am Skyn's customers was really important to design a brand that not only looked great, but that was also based on the strategy.

Wellness is the forefront of I Am Skyn's identity. Creating safe products that improve lives is their mission.

I Am Skyn was created for its user's to reclaim their beauty, elegance is a core company value.

Being a multi-generational collective with a focus on education, I Am Skyn believes community engagement to be its center.

Beauty

I am Skyn believes beauty comes in many shades and colors. The company chose colors that reflect that value.

The process

PHASE 2 – Visual identity

In order to position I Am Skyn as a premier cosmetic collective, the brand identity had to be simple, flexible and glamorous . I created the visual style based on three key elements: the logo, the colors and the typography.

The making

The logo was based on hundreds of sketches. The main concept is a Disney signature, a timeless icon that would stand the ages.

Color different

BRANDING = DIFFERENTIATION

I Am Skyn's colors are a foundation of its visual identity. The green lime is a very unique color in this industry normally, especially if combined with white. Despite not being common, they perfectly represent the brand attributes identified in the strategy phase.
